Advice
Leeds partners are developing a Social Policy Network to campaign
on issues that affect our clients.
As
well as providing advice to individuals, part of our role is to
campaign on Social Policy issues that are affecting our clients.
In this regular series of briefings, we highlight how local and
national social policies impact on the people we work with.
Legal
Aid Reforms
The
proposed changes to Legal Aid will have a signifiacnt impact on
the provision of legal advice in key areas such welfare rights,
housing and debt. Please join us in supporting the Justice
for All campaign and lobbying against these changes.

Justice
for All Campaign
Justice
for All is the campaign to ensure everyone is treated fairly under
the law, no matter who they are, how much money they have or where
they live.
The
Justice for All campaign is calling for the protection of access
to justice at a time when the recession and government changes to
vital support are driving more people to seek advice.
The
coalition campaign invites everyone who believes in justice for
all to join.

In
this briefing we look at the recent Comprehensive Spending Review
and the likely impact on Child Poverty in Leeds.
Previous
briefings
Our
first briefing focused on the anticpated impact of the recently
announced cuts to welfare benefits and tax credits for people in
Leeds.

The
briefing above provides some examples to illustrate the impact of
some of these changes on typical households in Leeds. Here we provide
some further details about these examples and how we reached our
conclusions.
